Trivia:

Professor Heinrich Schneider's name may be an allusion to Fyodor Dostoevsky's "The Idiot": in the novel, Professor Schneider was also a character who took care of the protagonist for a long time before the begin of the actual story. "The Idiot" was already explicitly referenced in the spiritual predecessor of "El Cazador", "Noir" (episode 06).

"Rosa del Inca" is a market designation frequently given to the mineral rhodochrosite, especially in Europe.

The "Japanese samurai show" that the police officer references in episode 3 is most likely "Lone Wolf and Cub", with Ricardo standing for Ogami Ittou, and Lirio, for Daigoro.

In episode 4, approx. 16:20 in, there is an obvious reference to the first two installments of Bee Trains' girls-with-guns trilogy: "MDX" (for "Madlax") and "Noir" neon signs on the skyscraper tops.

There is a continuity error between episodes 6 and 18: in episode 6, the cover of the romance book "Prayer prayed to you" reveals that Violet Waras was its author, yet in episode 18, the author's name is Howard Heisman.

The red shoes seen in both "Noir" and "Madlax" also appear in "El Cazador" in episode 9, approx. 8:41 in. In all three cases, their respective owners (Kirika Yuumura, Margaret Burton, Illis Gonsalez) are voiced by Houko Kuwashima.

The series takes place in 2009. In episode 11, Nastarsha mentions that her cat Chappy died "last year" (approx. 9:27 in), and later, Chappy's gravestone (approx. 13:04 in) states that it happened in 2008.

Jodie Hayward's outfit in episode 21, a green cloak and a sniper rifle, is a homage to cloak-wearing Chloe in "Noir" and the sniper Limelda Jorg in "Madlax": all three of them were voiced by Aya Hisakawa.
