The sketch is simple for a comedy routine, poke fun at social norms and expectations, at the same time it can be amusing or just as easily fall flat on its face (as goes with any joke).

I really didn't like Mrs. Doubtfire and Big Momma's House. The Nutty Professor was okay but cheesy, and Hairspray was actually pretty cool. We can be just as weird as Japan, folks. Crossdressing, genderbending, gay and lesbian titilation does not seem to be an unfamiliar thing for acting portrayals in our niche fandom. Hourou Musuko is a beautiful anime detailing with adolescent transgender issues while avoiding stereotypes.

I realize you can also have a famous actor or actress who really wants to try a different role far outside of their normal perspective. In sketch terms, Stateside we have Kids In the Hall(Actually, Canada.) and WHITESTUKNOW where comedies are the preferred platform, although I suspect the coming years will grow this concept, and globalization will push this idea into other genres and socially acceptable situations.

Damn he looks cute as her. Curse you and your easily-passable as a female, androgyonous Asian male body! (Jealous)

It is just me but I can't perceive asians as being more androgynous than caucasians? Because I see Japansee men look as masculine as Caucasian men and the same for women.

It's just you. Japanese people can pass way, way better.

You might not have realized this, in Nashville, but this stuff isn't "gay and lesbian", and it's not actually "weird", either. The Mrs. Doubtfire/Madea thing is old, tired, rundown, and cringeworthy. It's not pro-LGBT, it's not "breaking out of a normal perspective" - it's actually mocking those things. It's just a tacky old schtick that wasn't even that funny in the first place.
