Yatterman World Premiere Give-Away

WIN TICKETS TO THE WORLD PREMIERE OF TAKASHI MIIKE'S YATTERMAN Friday, February 6 in NYC

New York Comic Con, Subway Cinema, and Nikkatsu are proud to present the World Premiere of Yatterman – directed by Takashi Miike and starring Shō Sakurai – and they're thrilled to be partnering with Anime News Network to offer fans five pairs of tickets to the premiere screening!

Fans have been waiting for Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer, Sukiyaki Western Django) to create a giant robot movie for years, and finally it's here. Starring Shō Sakurai, Yatterman is the story of two teenagers who run a high-tech toy shop which serves as a cover for their crime-busting exploits as a pair of masked super heroes. Miike's Yatterman is based on a classic anime series created by Tatsuo Yoshida (founder of anime studio Tatsunoko Productions, which produced Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets, Casshern, and Macross). Yoshida's Yatterman originally premiered in 1977 and ran for 108 wildly popular episodes and was long considered by Miike as one of his dream projects. It was revived in 2008 as a crowd-pleasing television series, and now it hits the big screen as Nikkatsu's Spring tentpole action blockbuster. With a massive budget and character and mecha designs by Katsuya Terada of Blood: The Last Vampire and Cutie Honey, it's an over-the-top ride that, par for the course for director Miike, promises to turn the giant robot movie on its mechanical head!

If you'd like to take in the World Premiere of Yatterman – and sit inside the same theater as Takashi Miike and Shō Sakurai – simply send your name. and e-mail below by 23:59 EST on Sunday, February 1. ANN will be selecting and contacting five winners (each will receive a pair of tickets). Winners will be able to pick up their tickets in the lobby of the DGA Theater at 110 WEST. 57th St. in NYC on Friday, February 6. Please note that tickets must be picked up by 7:15 PM and that no recording devices will be allowed inside the theater. Please note, too, that this contest is just for tickets to the screening. (Hotel and airfare aren't included.)

For fans who don't win tickets through ANN, you've still got a chance. Tickets will also be given away at the Nikkatsu booth at New York Comic Con on Friday, February 6.

Children under 12 years of age will not be permitted.
