3rd Kuroko's Basketball Anime Slated to Premiere on January 10

This year's 52nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Saturday that the third Kuroko's Basketball television anime season will premiere on January 10 at 26:58 (effectively January 11 at 2:58 a.m.) on the MBS station. It will then premiere on Tokyo MX TV station and on the BS11 channel on January 13. Weekly Shonen Jump also unveiled a new illustration of players Akashi and Midorima.

Kuroko no Basuke Fan Disc ~Hikari Sasu Basho e~ (Kuroko's Basketball Fan Disc: To the Shining Place) will ship on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on December 25. It will feature an original mini drama that looks back at the second season. In the "Oshaberi Demo Shimasen ka" (Shall We Talk?) drama, Kuroko summons his rivals to Maji Burger. As they chat, Hyūga, Izuki, and Kiyoshi show up.

The fan disc will also have a digest version of the talk show at the Hirakata Park ~Kiseki no Tenjikai~ (Exhibition of Miracles) event, as well as six character music videos, the second season ending alternating part gallery, the clean opening and ending sequences, and ver. 0 of the first-cours opening.

The musical duo GRANRODEO led by voice actor Kishō Taniyama will return to perform the opening theme song for the third Kuroko's Basketball television anime season. The opening will be titled, "Punky Funky Love." In addition, the five-man band Fo'x Tails will perform the ending theme, titled "GLITTER DAYS."

Shueisha's Jump Next magazine announced that Fujimaki would launch a sequel manga in the magazine's next issue on December 29. Fujimaki launched the main manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2008, and Shueisha will publish the 30th and final compiled volume in December. As of April, the series had more than 27 million copies in circulation.

The first anime season based on the manga ran from April to September of 2012. The second season premiered last October and ran through March.. Crunchyroll streamed the anime outside of Japan as it aired.
