Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Developers Address Possibility of Fran & Balthier Spinoff

posted on by Karen Ressler

The English-language Twitter account for the Final Fantasy series posted a brief video interview with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age producer Hiroaki Katō and director Takashi Katano on Saturday. In the video, Kato answers a question about the possibility of a spinoff about the characters Fran and Balthier:

We will continue to take on feedback from players about FFXII The Zodiac Age, and if we get a lot of players asking for that, we will of course consider it. That's why we really would like it if you could send us each and every one of your thoughts and feelings concerning the game.

The post is part of series of video interviews where Kato and Katano answer fan-submitted, staff-chosen questions about Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, usually about the game's development.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age is the high-definition PlayStation 4 remaster of the international version of Final Fantasy XII. The game will shipped in North America and Europe on July 11 and in Japan and Asia on July 13.

Square Enix released Final Fantasy XII for the PlayStation 2 in 2006 in Japan and North America, and in 2007 in Europe. The Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System version of the game shipped in Japan only in 2007.
