In ep 3, inside Saiko's uncle's office they find many copies of Jack. This is a reference to Jump.

In ep 4, at the connivence store the cover of the manga magazine they are reading has Naruto on it.

In ep 9, various characters are reading a manga magazine with One Piece on the front.

In ep 10 when the main characters step out of the elevator they see many ads for manga such as Bleach and One Piece.

In ep 13 Naruto is on the cover of the manga magazine that the two main characters debut their manga.

In episode 1, when Moritaka is worried when Akito has his notebook, Akito makes a Death Note reference.

In episode 1, at the bookstore scene the manga shown are Hikaru no Go and Death Note. This is because the mangaka of Bakuman is also the mangaka for the above series.

In episode 15, the song that Miyoshi sings in the bathtub is the Japanese version of "Get Up" by Vamps. The song was originally written and recorded with English lyrics but was rewritten so that Koogy could cover it. Vamps later released the Japanese version for themselves as the b-side of their single "Memories."

In episode 20, Hattori holds an apple and says "All according to plan" with the same face Light from Death Note makes while saying the same thing.
