Japan's Twitter Ranking, November 2010: #4 Ika Musume

Twipple Trend, BIGLOBE's information site for Twitter users, has announced on Monday its November ranking chart for the Twitter social networking service in Japan. The site reports that Japanese users sent 360,653,206 tweets in November, an increase of 9.6% compared to October's 329 million. (There were 140 million tweets in March.) The most discussed topics included the headline news, as well as anime. The top 10 words were:

The busiest time of the day is the 10:00 p.m. hour (average of 942,931 tweets). Users posted 28.6% of their tweets from personal computers, 28.1% from mobile devices, 16.8% from either one, 13.6% from smartphones, 5.6% from APIs (application programming interface used by bots and other automated programs), and 3.2% from link services.

The most retweeted tweet was "Minna, tadaima!!" ("Everyone, I'm home!!") from @Hayabusa_JAXA, the blog reporting on the return of the Japanese unmanned spacecraft Hayabusa. It was retweeted 8,320 times.
