Recochoku's Valentine Anime Character Survey

The Japanese music distributor Recochoku posted the results of its annual Valentine's survey of the anime characters that people want to give chocolates to, and receive chocolates from. In Japan, women give chocolates to men on February 14, and men return the favor on White Day (March 14).

Between January 18 and February 1, Recochoku asked its users which character they want to give chocolates to — and receive chocolates from. The results from the self-selected pool of 1,735 respondents are as follows:

Anime Characters I Want to Give Chocolates to

1. Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)
2. Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)
3. Shōta Kazehaya (Kimi ni Todoke)

Anime Characters I Want to Receive Chocolates from

1. Yui Hirasawa (K-ON!!)
2. Mio Akiyama (K-ON!!)
3. Azusa Nakano (K-ON!!)
