Higurashi's Ryukishi07 to Launch New Series This Year

In a New Year's greeting on his production blog, Higurashi: When They Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) creator Ryukishi07 revealed on Monday that he will launch a new serial work this year. The title will be his first new series in a year. The title logo is now being produced, and he will announce the project when he can.
Ryukishi07 noted that the new work will have a completely different world setting than his previous works have had, so he will greatly enjoy the actual writing process.
Besides Higurashi, Ryukishi07 has created or written Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Ōkamikakushi, Rewrite, and Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni. The Higurashi, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, and Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni visual novel software were released under Ryukishi07's 07th Expansion dōjin (self-publishing) circle.
