The April issue of Hobby Japan magazine is announcing on Saturday that Naomi Tamura and Aika Kobayashi will sing the opening and ending theme songs, respectively, for the Queen's Blade: Rebellion television anime series. Both songs will be sold on CD singles on April 25.

Tamura is contributing her song "Inochi no Uta ga Kikoeru" (You Can Hear the Song of Life). She is best known for the 1.2-million-copy-selling single "Yuzurenai Negai" ("Unyielding Wish") from the Magic Knight Rayearth television anime series. She later performed the "Hikari to Kage wo Dakishimeta Mama" opening theme for the second Rayearth television season and the "All You Need is Love" ending theme for the Rayearth video remake. Tamura then performed the "Ready, Go!" opening theme for the first Pokémon anime series, as well as the "Aratanaru Chikai" theme for the Pocket Monster Crystal: Raikou Ikazuchi no Densetsu special. More recently, she sang the first opening theme for the Getbackers anime, "Yuragu Koto Nai Ai."

18-year-old high school student Kobayashi is singing the ending theme song "future is serious." She had previously sang the ending theme song "Kimi o Mamoritai" (I Want to Protect You) for the Freezing television anime series.

The story of the anime originated in Hobby Japan's Queen's Blade fantasy game book franchise, which are Japanese spinoffs from Flying Buffalo's Lost Worlds game series. (In these games, players simulate turn-based fighting with books that each represent a character. ) The Queen's Blade books also inspired the previous two television anime series and several original video anime volumes.

Queen's Blade: Rebellion is set four years after the first Queen's Blade storyline and revolves around Annelotte, the rebelling knight princess who stands up to the tyranny of the new queen. The Rebellion storyline already spawned two prologue original video anime DVDs that are being bundled with the Queen's Blade Premium Visual Books.

The series will premiere in Japan in April.
