Fan collects and posts images of all 29 bonus filmstrip images from film showings

An anonymous K-ON! fan in Japan has watched the K-ON! film in every movie theater in the country that showed the film. The fan collected and posted images of all 29 filmstrip images that were given out as part of the special bonuses offered for fans. The anonymous fan also posted an image of the bonus items collected from visiting the various theaters (pictured at right). Another fan had previously calculated that it would cost more than 70,000 yen (about US$865) to get all the advance tickets with all their bonuses for the film.

Naoko Yamada and Kyoto Animation's K-ON! anime film originally opened on December 3 on 137 screens in Japan. The film opened at #2 and stayed in the top 15 until the film fell off Box Office Mojo's chart in its 11th weekend. By the film's 10th weekend, it was still playing on 88 screens.

The movie depicts a story not told in the television series, even though it follows the five female members of Sakuragaoka High School's light music club while they are still attending high school as they embark on a graduation trip to London. The original television voice cast reprised their respective roles in the movie, as did most of the main staff.
