Takeshi Furusawa directs August 4 film of novel that also inspired TV anime
The official website for the live-action film based on Yukito Ayatsuji's horror novel Another began streaming a teaser trailer on Friday. Like the ongoing television anime, the film centers around a string of unavoidable deaths that befall the boys and girls in a cursed school class.
Takeshi Furusawa is directing the film, which will open in Japan on August 4.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime version into several countries as it airs in Japan. Sentai Filmworks will release the anime digitally "through multiple outlets" and will then release it on DVD and Blu-ray later this year.
