Lagrange Anime's Energy Drink Becomes a Reality

The official website for the city of Kamogawa, Chiba announced on May 8 that the "Kamogawa Energy" drink from the Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne anime will become a reality. The carbonated drink will debut on June 1 at the Kamogawa Sea Festa event. However, the city is only planning a limited batch of 50 cases, each with 24 245-milliliter (about 8.3 U.S. fluid ounce) bottles.
The city's promotion committee looked into making the drink after many anime fans asked for the real thing at the "Lag-Rin Festival 2012 in Kamogawa" event last year and the "Lag-Rin Day in Nanabatake Road" this year. The current version is "Vox Aura" green, a reference to the mecha Madoka controls in the anime series.
The city began taking orders on Monday, and it will stop on May 27 or when supplies run out. There is a limit of one 4,800-yen (US$47) box per customer. (Each bottle costs 200 yen or US$2.)
