Tamayura VA Yuko Gibu Holds Wedding Event for Fans

It's not every day that you get to attend the wedding of a big celebrity. Last week, fans were able to partake in a very special occasion: the wedding celebration of Yuko Gibu, the voice actress known best for her role as Maon Sakurada in Tamayura. The bride announced her marriage in March, describing her husband as man who looks similar to Sochi Olympic medalist Yuzuru Hanyu.
The event took place in Hiroshima, at Takehara City's famous Shōren-ji Temple. In addition to fans, who paid a fee to be a part of the nuptials, those in attendance included members of the cast and crew of Tamayura, such as Yukari Fukui and Erino Hazuki, as well as members of the J-Pop duo marble. Upon entry, guests were greeted by an original illustrated welcome board, which sported images of all of the main characters from Tamayura.
Of course, the center of any wedding reception is the cake-cutting. However, instead of the more traditional style of cake, Gibu's wedding was celebrated in true Hiroshima style, with the cutting of a 1800x600mm (almost 6x2 ft) okonomiyaki . Guests in attendance were invited to share in this colossal savory treat.
The reception was followed up by a grand bridal parade, in which Gibu herself appeared clad in a traditional 12-layered kimono. The parade also featured various mascot characters, including Tamayura's Momoneko, as well as Takehara's city mascot, Kaguya Panda. Parade watchers then took part in a traditional mochi-maki rice cake throwing.
During her speech to everyone in attendance, Gibu stated that she had been made "the happiest in the world" thanks to all who came, and that she looked forward to "many new and interesting things from here on." Gibu's personal friend and colleague, Miyu Matsuki also delivered a toast to the new couple, wishing them many years of happiness on the road ahead.
