A3! Male Actor-Raising Smartphone Game Hijacks Tokyo's Ikebukuro Station

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The "ikemen-raising" mobile game A3! is "hijacking" Tokyo's Ikebukuro Station beginning on Monday. Each area of the four railways operating out of the station features members from the game's four groups on individual posters with handwritten character messages, group posters, and flyers.

The posters for the 20 members of the Mankai Company are divided between the station's four train lines as follows: Spring Troupe for East Japan Railway Company, Summer Troupe for Seibu Railway, Autumn Troupe for Tobu Railway, and Winter Troupe for Tokyo Metro. Each group's character posters are on display near the ticket gates for their respective train line.

To celebrate the train station's "hijacking," the smartphone game is offering a Kazunari Miyoshi (Summer Troupe) SR++ in-game card until August 31.

The campaign's official website is posting the Tweets of people who use the collaboration hashtag to share pictures of the posters on Twitter.

Fans have downloaded the free-to-play game more than 3.5 million times. The franchise has inspired top-selling CDs and manga. The Spring Troupe members also appeared in an ad campaign that screened outside major stations in Japan earlier this year.
