New JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Real Escape Game Gets Original Character

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

SCRAP's Real Escape Game announced a new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders attraction on Thursday. The attraction, titled JoJo no Kimyō na Kan kara no Dasshutsu (Escape From JoJo's Bizarre Building), will feature an exclusive original enemy character. The game will run in 24 locations in Japan, starting with Tokyo's Harajuku district on November 2.

The new attraction will be the second collaboration between Real Escape Game and the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders television anime. The game is set inside a building made by an enemy Stand. Participants must become Stand users to solve puzzles and escape from the mysterious building. Players will cooperate in groups of six people, and the time limit will be 60 minutes. Staff will announce details of the enemy Stand, visuals, and the voice actor for the new character in the future.

In the attraction's story, Jōtarō's group heads to Egypt to face off against his old nemesis DIO. They hear a mysterious voice in the room of a hotel they stop in along the way. The voice tells the group that they have one hour left to live, and the unseen enemy wonders how they will spend their remaining time.

The voice continues, "Those who cannot escape from the hotel within and hour... They will disappear without a trace!" Jōtarō and his companions think the voice must belong to one of DIO's henchmen, but he will not reveal himself. In an instant, the walls of the room begin to wriggle, and the hotel becomes a convoluted maze. The group is unable to crack the walls.

The voice soon disappears, and Jōtarō and friends have to figure out how to escape before they are permanently "checked out" from this world. They decided to find their enemy's true form and strike before it's too late. Five people and one dog thus begin their fight for survival.

General advance tickets will cost 3,000 yen (about US$27) and 2,500 yen (US$23) for students. A group set of six tickets will cost 17,400 yen (US$159), and individual same-day tickets will cost 3,500 yen (US$32).

A separate Real Escape Game inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable is currently running at three locations across Japan. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fans can also experience a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 4D show at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka from until October 1.
