These Drowsy Ikemen Will Lull You to Sleep & Sell You Lingerie

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Lingerie company Wacoal is getting in on the weird love sim mobile game business with the release of KareMin: Watashi ga Kare to Nyūmin Suru Wake. The romance sleep simulation game is slated for release on September 3, which also happens to be "Sleep Day" in Japan.

The premise of the game is based on recent survey results conducted by Wacoal in August. The results showed that one in five Japanese women complained that their bust hindered them from getting a good night's sleep, some citing movement during the night as a factor. The game's scenario and characters were all designed to promote better sleep while also pushing Wacoal's Nyūmin line of nighttime supportive lingerie. The game's title, roughly translated as "the reason I fall asleep with him" can also be read as "the reason I Nyūmin with him."

The game's heroine is running on empty. She's not getting enough sleep so, at a friend's suggestion, she participates in a sleep seminar conducted by Wacoal. Upon arriving, she finds out that she is selected to receive a special lesson from the five members of the "Nyūmin Quartet."

The sleepy ikemen are voiced by Natsuki Hanae, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Takuya Eguchi, Nobunaga Shimazaki , and Junichi Suwabe.

The player is able to take sleep lessons from the characters, get ready for bed with them, co-sleep with them, wake up with them, and then have daytime conversation with them. All in the name of a good night's sleep.

The 2015 anime series Makura no Danshi (Pillow Boys) took a similar approach and promised a "new and novel 'sleeping side-by-side' experience entirely in the first-person perspective" to "heal tired hearts." There was also Isshoni Sleeping: Sleeping with Hinako, a similar OAV starring "real-girl-turned-anime-character" Hinako.
