Voice Actress Risa Taneda Updates Fans on Recovery, Return

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Voice actress Risa Taneda's agency Office Ozawa announced in August that Taneda was gradually returning to voice acting work after receiving medical treatment on her throat. Tanedo issued her first personal message to fans since the start of her return on her Rhodanthe* unit's official website on Friday.

Taneda said in the message that her recovery was harder and took longer than she expected. She also said, "Honestly, being able to return now feels like a miracle to me." She added that everyone's support, kind words, and letters helped her to recover.

Taneda said that she feels like she is starting over from scratch, and she will do her best at her own pace while considering her throat and physical condition. She said she already has a few projects she is working on and asked fans for their continued support.

Taneda went on hiatus last year in August to receive medical treatment. In some roles during Taneda's hiatus, she was replaced by different voice actresses. Rie Takahashi replaced her in the role of Mash Kyrielite in Fate/Grand Order, including in the Fate/Grand Order: First Order anime. Nana Mizuki replaced her in the role of Kisaki Kondō in the WWW.WORKING anime. Hisako Kanemoto replaced her in the role of Erina Nakiri for the Jump Special Anime Festa event anime of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, as well as the Shokugeki no Soma: Tōtsuki Jūkketsu OVA and the third season.
