UQ Holder Creator Draws Yui Ogura for Gravure Shoot

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Voice actress and idol Yui Ogura armed herself with a sword to promote this season's UQ Holder! Magister Negi Magi! 2 anime series in a gravure photo shoot for the November issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. Ogura appears in a plaid skirt, black blouse, and thigh-high socks for the promotional image. Manga creator Ken Akamatsu drew an illustration of Ogura in the pose and that drawing is included in the magazine.

Ogura voices Karin in the anime adaptation and also sings the opening and ending themes with other cast members.

UQ Holder! is set in the world of Akamatsu's Negima! Magister Negi Magi manga, and takes place years after the earlier manga. The story centers on a boy named Touta who dreams of leaving his small town and moving to the city. However, he must first defeat his teacher, the immortal Evangeline.

The anime premiered in Japan on October 2 at 24:00 (effectively October 3 at 12:00 a.m.) on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11. Sentai Filmworks announced that it has licensed the television anime and it is streaming during this fall's simulcast season on Anime Strike within the United States and on select digital outlets in other countries. A home video release will follow.
