Fox Kids Prepares New Friday Lineup

posted on

While I was watching Digimon earlier today, I was witness to a commercial (which I assume has been airing this entire week)...

Starting June 30th, Fox Kids Friday's will be called "Anime Invasion".

Late last year, Fox Family introduced a block of anime shows airing every Sunday morning. The shows that Fox Family broadcast included Digimon, Monster Rancher, and Megaman.

This Sunday morning broadcast quickly grew to become one of the most popular shows on Fox Family.

In March, "Anime Invasion" expanded by adding "Flint The Time Detective" to the lineup. The name of this 4 hour block of anime became "Made In Japan", and it has only grown in popularity since then.

What makes "Made In Japan" special is that it not only broadcasts anime, but that it makes no attempt to hide the country of origin. In fact, Fox Family embraces the origin of the series in many ways. "Made In Japan" teaches simple Japanese words, and lists the current Top-3 Singles, Movies, and Video Games currently sold in Japan. In addition, they have trivia about anime and Japanese pop culture as bumpers between the anime shows and the commercials.

Fox Kids has said that their "Anime Invasion" will contain Digimon, Monster Rancher, and Flint. In addition, the commercial hints that additional information and anime will be broadcast eventually. As previously noted,

Hopefully, Fox will include tidbits of Japanese culture in the broadcasts, like what Fox Family is doing with "Made In Japan".

As Fox Kids releases more information, we'll let you know!
