Production IG and ING merger Information

As of September 1st, 2000 Production I.G has merged with it's parent company ING. This is not a merger of two distinct companies, but rather a merger of a Parent Corporation and one of it's Susidiaries.
Tatsunoko IG, which was later renamed Production I.G, was founded in 1987 by Mitsuhisa Ishikawa and Takayuki Goto; IG stands for Ishikawa Goto.
ING was formed in 1990 by Ishikawa to serve as the parent company for Production I.G and it's affiliates, Production I.G, Xebec, IG USA, and Bee Train. Ishikawa is also the president of Production I.G, IG USA and IG Plus. Mr. Ishikawa remains the President and CEO of the new Production I.G
Production I.G is the production Studio behind movies and series such as Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell, Jin-Roh and Blood. Takayuki Goto is the VP of Production I.G
IG USA is responsible for the international sales and promotion of products from ING and its subsidiaries.
Xebec mainly produces animation for TV series and OVA's for the Japanese market. Xebec has produced titles such as Nedesico, Bakuretsu Hunter and Steam Detectives. Xebec was founded in May 1995 by Ishikawa who appointed Yukinao Shimoji as the president.
Bee Train was established in 1997 and produces produces animation for TV series and games, its debut project "The Legend of PoPoLoCrois" is a 26 episode TV series which was produced for SPE Visual Works. Kōichi Mashimo is the president of this last subsidiary of Production I.G/ING
