Shogakukan to Complain to FCC re: FCC Kidszone Mascot

Shogakukan Investigating Possible Trademark Infringement

Shogakukan has announced that it is investigating the FCC's use of a mascot for their Kidszone website that appears to be a violation of Shogakukan's intellectual property.

Previously, we reported on the FCC's use of a "discolored Doraemon" on its Kidszone website. At the time, a Doraemon representative, masquerading as "Broadband" replied, "Although I consider it an honor that you think I look like the cartoon character Doraemon. We have no known similar features except that we are both cats."

Shogakukan did not authorize the FCC's use of their character, and will be contacting the FCC in writing regarding the issue.
