Most shows take Golden Week hit, but Shin-chan rises
Japan celebrated the annual Golden Week holidays last week, and that meant two things for anime television ratings. First, the pollers at Video Research took a one-week break and didn't publish a chart last week. Second, the ratings of many shows from Pocket Monsters DP to the age-defying, wrinkle-free Sazae-san dipped as families headed outdoors. At least one show benefited from Golden Week, however; more people watched a Crayon Shin-chan [Shin-chan] movie tie-in special about the troublemaker and his dog than watched last year's movie when it aired the week before.
