ADV Films Licenses Tokyo Majin Anime for North America

ADV Films has informed Anime News Network that it has acquired the North American rights to the 26-episode, mythical-school-horror anime series Tokyo Majin.
Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchō was originally a hit 1998 Sony PlayStation game about students with mystical powers battling demonic legends come to life. The story has since expanded into six more games, eight audio dramas, seven novels, and eight manga series. The first 14 anime episodes of Tokyo Majin premiered on Animax between January and April of this year as Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho: Tou, while the second season, Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho: Tou 2nd Act, is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 27.
ADV has not yet set the release date for the first volume or announced any television plans. The series will be released over six DVDs.
This is the third license that ADV has announced in the past week—the others being 5 Centimeters Per Secondurl and Xenosaga: The Animationurl.
