I.G, BMG Japan Launch Tokyo Marble Chocolate Website (Updated)

posted on by Egan Loo
Project marks companies' 20th anniversary with SEAMO, Sukima Switch songs

Saishin Anime Jōhō reports that the Japanese animation studio Production I.G has opened the official website for Tokyo Marble Chocolate, the project which commemorates the 20th anniversary of both I.G and the BMG Japan music label. The work will go on sale December 5. The work will feature the theme songs "Mata Aimashō" by hip hop artist SEAMO, and "Zenryoku Shōnen" by the male jazz pop duo and fellow BMG Japan act Sukima Switch.

The story revolves around a sweet but shy boy named Yūdai and a cheerful but clumsy girl named Chizuru—who both have not had much success with the opposite gender. Yūdai tries to give Chizuru a rabbit as a present for Christmas (arguably the most imporant day for Japanese couples—even more so than Valentine's Day), but when Chizuru opens the box, out appears a "mini-donkey." In Chizuru's ensuing chase of the fleeing "mini-donkey," the couple lose each other and the "pure love story" unfolds.

Manga artist Fumiko Tanikawa (Ohitori-sama Monogatari, Kimi to Boku no Machi de) will design the characters that animation director Kyoji Asano (Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE The Movie: Princess of the Birdcage Kingdom, Le Chevalier D'Eon) will adapt. Another Tsubasa movie and Le Chevalier D'Eon veteran, Naoyoshi Shiotani, will direct from the script by Masaya Ozaki (Love Generation, At-Home Dad live-action dramas).
