Monthly Dengeki Comic GAO! mag to finish at least 12 titles in next two issues

MediaWorks' Monthly Dengeki Comic Gao! magazine is planning to end at least 12 manga titles over the next two issues, but has not officially announced the direction, if any, the publication will take after February. The March issue (on sale on January 26) of the magazine will announce that Mari Matsuzawa's Inukami!, MATSUDA98's Honoka Lv. Up!, Ginyū Shijin's Baccano! 1931 The Grand Punk Railroad, and five other manga titles will end in the April issue (on sale on February 27). The new joint Tor/Seven Seas imprint had just announced its North American license of Inukami! earlier this month, and Broccoli Books did the same for Honoka. The Baccano! manga is based on a light novel series that also inspired a 2007 anime. The other five titles that are ending in April are:

  • Watashi-tachi no Tamura-kun
  • D.H.A
  • Hyaku-me no Kishi
  • Knights
  • Earise

Two more titles, Allison and Toradora!, will end their Dengeki Comic Gao! runs in the March issue and then restart in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine in March and April, respectively. Allison is based on a light novel series that will spawn the upcoming Allison to Lillia anime in April. Densha Otoko's Getsumen to Heiki Mina, Those Who Hunt Elves Returns, Yukanoyu, and Vivid ColorS will end in the March issue, with only Mina getting a one-shot side story in the April issue. Shiage ni Tate Ari and the ef - a fairy tale of the two manga's second story arc will end in the March and April issues, respectively, but no announcement has been made about future story arcs for either. The fates of the manga versions of Wagaya no Oinari-sama., Kemeko Deluxe!, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Venus Versus Virus, Nanatsuiro Drops Pure!!, and Gyakusō Shōjo: Owaranai Natsu Yasumi after the April issue have not been announced yet.
