Noodle Fighter Miki, Train Man Artists Start New Manga

Sadogawa's Punisher fantasy, Watanabe's Yowamushi Pedal cycling manga

Jun Sadogawa, the creator of the Muteki Kanban Musume (Noodle Fighter Miki) manga and anime, will start a new manga called Punisher in this year's 10th issue (on sale on February 7) of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine. The Punisher heroic fantasy (no relation to the Marvel comic anti-hero) will recount the journeys of a sword-wielding boy named Aruto and his female companion. ADV Manga released three of the 17 volumes of Noodle Fighter Miki in North America, and Media Blasters has just finished releasing the anime (under the title Ramen Fighter Miki) this month.

Wataru Watanabe, the artist of one of the four main Train Man manga adaptations, will start a new manga called Yowamushi Pedal (Weak Pedals) in this year's 12th issue (on sale on February 21) of Weekly Shōnen Champion. The magazine advertises the new title as a "bicycle road race epic." Watanabe drew inspiration from Hitori Nakano's novelized blog entries to create the Densha Otoko - Demo Ore Tabidatsuyo romantic comedy, which CMX released under the title: Densha Otoko: The Story of the Train Man Who Fell in Love with a Girl.
