Madman News from Supanova Expo

Madman Entertainment to stream Anime online, releasing titles in Blu-Ray. More after the cut;

This news comes from the Madman Panel at Supanova Pop Culture Expo Melbourne 2008.

The first piece of news that Madman Entertainment announced is that that they will be streaming Anime episodes online. In a move that Madman states has been in the works for quite some time, Sylvester Ip slated the first episode of School Rumble will be the service's first release. No confirmation has yet been given as to when this new system will start, but Madman has arranged the licensing deals with various anime studios. All that is required is the technical side of the videos. Viewing will be completely free but for the time being it is expected that only first episodes will be streamed online.

Another piece of news is the announcement that they will be releasing titles in the upcoming digital disc format, Blu-Ray. No titles were revealed as yet, however they have indicated that fans could be seeing these in stores by as early as July this year.

Finally, Madman would like to remind everyone who has been collecting The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya DVDs about the closing date of their redemption scheme. Buyers should have received with their DVDs these tokens which they can send back to Madman by the end of May together with $10 or their credit card details. This will entitle them to the full collection of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya except in broadcast order.

More information on Supanova Melbourne 2008 will be released as soon as compile our report.
