Fruits Basket Helmer Daichi's Secret January TV Program

Akitarō Daichi, the acclaimed director of Fruits Basket, Kodomo no Omocha, and Now and Then, Here and There, has announced in his blog on Saturday that his new television program will premiere on January 13, which is his birthday. However, he cautioned that the project has not been publicly announced. Daichi made the announcement in his blog entry with a traditional New Year's greeting, and noted that he worked through the New Year's holidays on the preparations for the new program. (He added that he is the kind of person that loves work and does not believe in taking time off on New Year's.)
Daichi did reveal that his new project is a short work based on an "original story known to many people," and that it will broadcast over-the-air in prime time. Daichi said that the news embargo on the project will be lifted on January 5.
