Kamui, Milk Tea, I'll Give It My All Manga Return

Viz released Kamui, I'll Give It My All... Tomorrow; Tokyopop published Milk Tea

Sanpei Shirato will be launching his first new Kamui Gaiden ninja manga story in nine years on September 25. That is when the October 10th issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine will ship in Japan. The previous Kamui Gaiden stories featured a rogue ninja named Kamui during Japan's Edo period. The new three-installment Kamui Gaiden: Saikai (The Legend of Kamui: Reunion) side story will center on a previously introduced female ninja named Ikona. Shirato has not drawn a Kamui Gaiden manga story since he finished the second major story arc in 2000. He launched the original manga in Garo magazine in 1964.

Not coincidentally, Yōichi Sai's (Choi Yang-il's) live-action film version, which stars Ken'ichi Matsuyama (Death Note movies' L, Detroit Metal City's Sōichi/Krauser II), will open in Japan on September 19. Viz Media released the manga in North America under the name The Legend of Kamui.

The ninth issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal Island magazine confirmed on Friday that Tomochika Miyano will resume the Yubisaki Milk Tea romantic comedy manga after a three-year break. The story follows a boy who filled in for his older sister as a bridal gown model, only to discover that he likes cross-dressing. The eighth and ninth compiled book volumes will ship in Japan on October 29. More details on the new installments and volumes will be provided in future issues of the main Young Animal magazine. Tokyopop published the first seven volumes in North America already.

Shunju Aono is returning to his I'll Give It My All... Tomorrow (Ore wa Mada Honki Dashitenai Dake) manga in the November issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Ikki magazine on September 25. The manga began in 2007 as the story of a Japanese salaryman who quit his day job to pursue his manga-drawing dreams — only to fall short of his goals. The third and most recent compiled volume shipped in February. Viz is releasing the manga on its English-language SigIkki website.
