Japan's Animation DVD Ranking, August 30-September 5

The market survey firm Oricon Communications has announced on Wednesday that One Piece Film Strong World topped both the DVD and Blu-ray Disc charts for a second week in a row. Its two DVD editions also ranked one-two on the DVD chart for the second week. The last time that two DVD editions of the same work ranked one-two for two weeks in a row was when the deluxe collector's edition and "regular" collector's edition of Michael Jackson's This Is It debuted this past February. However, this is the first time that any anime work accomplished that feat since Oricon began posting its charts. It is also the first time that any anime work ranked #1 for two weeks in a row on both the DVD and Blu-ray charts.
The Memorial Edition for the live-action film adaptation of Inio Asano's Solanin romance manga debuted at #3 and sold 16,180 copies. The Standard Edition landed at #15 with 4,095 copies. Miku no Hi Kanshasai 39's Giving Day Project Diva presents Hatsune Miku Solo Concert ~Konbanwa, Hatsune Miku Desu.~ also debuted at #9 with 5,465 copies sold. AKB48's Nogashita Sakana-tachi ~Single Video Collection~ moved 2,332 more copies to return to #27 in its eighth week. It has now sold 109,767 copies.
