Anime of Hinata Takeda's manga set in 19th century Paris to debut on July 3

The Japanese production company Media Factory began streaming the 112-second "Gallerie" promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Hinata Takeda's Ikoku Meiro no Croisée (La croisée dans un labyrinthe étranger) manga on Thursday.

The story follows a girl named Yune who arrives in the lower-class neighborhoods of Paris in the last half of the 19th century, when Japanese culture gains popularity in Europe. She ends up working at an ironworks shop with a boy named Claude.

Kenji Yasuda (Shugo Chara! franchise) is directing the project's animators at the studio Satelight. Junichi Satō (Aria, Kaleido Star, Princess Tutu, Tamayura) is not only supervising the story that Mamiko Ikeda (D.C. ~Da Capo~, Emma: A Victorian Romance, Himawari!) is scripting, but he is also directing the soundtrack. Animators from France are drawing the background art for Satelight. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 3.
