Sentai Filmworks Adds A Channel, Un-Go Anime

Spring slice-of-life TV anime from Studio Gokumi & fall mystery TV anime from Bones

The North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Saturday that it licensed the anime series A-Channel and Un-Go.

The original four-panel A Channel manga by bb Kuroda and its anime adaptation revolve around the everyday life of four high school girls: the flighty Run, the reckless Tōru, the timid Yūko, and the level-headed Nagi. The television anime aired from April to June, and an original video anime project has since been green-lit. Manabu Ono (Mayoi Neko Overrun!, Saki) directed the television anime at Studio Gokumi

In Un-Go, Shinjūrō Yūki and Inga work together to solve mysteries in a near future timeline. The story is based on the works of Ango Sakaguchi (Aoi Bungaku Series' "In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom"), a post-World War II Japanese novel and essayist. The anime premiered on October 13.

The staff includes director Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist, Gundam 00), the studio Bones, screenwriter Shō Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Nadesico), and character designers pako (Scar-red Rider XechS) and Yun Kouga (Gundam 00, Loveless). Crunchyroll is streaming the series in various countries outside of Japan, Anime on Demand is streaming the series in the U.K., and Anime News Network Australia is streaming the series in Australia.
