Kuroko no Basuke Anime's Staff, Cast, Premiere Listed

Prince of Tennis/Tsubasa's Tada directs April anime with actors Yūki Ono, Kenshō Ono

On Monday, this year's 51st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing the staff, cast, and premiere month for the television anime adaptation of Tadatoshi Fujimaki's Kuroko no Basuke basketball manga.

Shunsuke Tada (The Prince of Tennis, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) is directing the anime at Production I.G, and Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Baccano!) is in charge of the scripts. Yōko Kikuchi (Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations, Noir) is designing the characters.

Yūki Ono will play the new basketball team member Taiga Kagami (pictured above right), while Kenshō Ono will play the hidden talent Tetsuya Kuroko (pictured above, far right). The anime will premiere next April.

In the story, Taiga Kagami has just enrolled into Seirin High School when he meets Tetsuya Kuroko of the school's basketball team. Kuroko happens to be the shadowy sixth member of the legendary "Generation of Miracles" basketball team. Together, Kagami and Kuroko aim to take their team to the inter-high school championship — against Kuroko's former teammates.

Fujimaki launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2008, and Shueisha published the 14th compiled book volume last month.
