Ebiten School Otaku Comedy Manga Gets Anime

posted on by Egan Loo
SCA-ji, Kira Inugami's story of girl who accidentally joins club for female otaku

The January issue of Kadokawa Group Publishing's Comptiq magazine is announcing on Saturday that an anime project of SCA-ji and Kira Inugami's Ebiten: Kōritsu Ebisugawa Kōkō Tenmon-Bu manga is in the works. The story centers around Itsuki Noya, a new student who wishes to join the school's astronomy club (tenmon-bu). However, Itsuki actually entered the similarly named Tenmon-bu — a club for fujoshi (female otaku) interests.

SCA-ji and Inugami launched the manga in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine in 2008, and the second compiled book volume was published last year. Inugami's other works include illustrations in the Seitokai no Ichizon (Student Council's Discretion) light novels and the mascot character for the card game division of the character goods maker Broccoli.
