Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas PC Game Bundles Anime Short

12-minute short from Production I.G to tell original story

The studio Nitroplus announced on Thursday that the Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas computer adventure game prequel based on the Guilty Crown anime will bundle an anime short. The DVD of the 12-minute short will be bundled with the limited-edition version of the game. Production I.G and the anime's original staff are returning to create the short, which will tell an original story not from the television anime series or the game. Nitroplus is in charge of the script for the short.

Nitroplus will release the game on May 31 for 5,040 yen (about US$61). The limited edition will retail for 7,140 yen (about US$86). The limited edition will also include a special box, a digi-case designed by Chuuouhigashiguchi, a booklet, and an "another jacket sheet" from character designer redjuice and chief animation director Satoshi Kadowaki.

Nitroplus also revealed more members of the game's main cast on Thursday. Takahiro Sakurai will play Scrooge, Kana Asumi will play Carol, Ayahi Takagaki will play Past, and Yū Kobayashi will play Present. In addition, the Aniplex booth at Anime Contents Expo will host a special stage event on April 1 featuring Takahiro Sakurai, Kana Asumi, and Ai Kayano. It will also feature Kanako Ito, who will perform a mini-concert.

Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas is set a decade before the anime on December 25, 2029. On that day, the "Apocalypse Virus" devastated the land in an incident known as "Lost Christmas." Against this backdrop, the game will reveal a previously untold story of the events leading up to the anime.

Jin Haganeya (Demonbane game) wrote the original scenario for the game, and Chuuouhigashiguchi created the original artwork. Both are involved in the anime itself, which premiered on Fuji TV's late-night Noitamina programming block last October and which ended its run on Thursday. Kanako Itou, a frequent contributor to Nitroplus titles, sings the game's theme song. Nitroplus streamed a promotional video for the game in January.
