Retailers: Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita BDs/DVDs to Have Original Anime, Aura Film Promo

posted on by Egan Loo
Shogakukan editors had said that earlier leak of Aura film was "partially in error"

According to retailers, the Blu-ray Disc and DVD volumes of the Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita television anime series will include six bonus original anime shorts, along with the promotional videos for the Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai film. Romeo Tanaka wrote the original light novels for both Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita and Aura.

Each of the Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita Blu-ray and DVD volumes will have an original "Ningen-san no, Jakunikukyōshoku" anime short, starting with the first volume on September 19. According to retailers, the six volumes will also include Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai's promotional videos. The sixth volume will ship on February 20, 2013.

The story of Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita is set several centuries into the slow decline of mankind. Earth has now become the realm of "fairies" — 10-centimeter-tall (about 4-inch-tall) creatures with remarkable intelligence. The human protagonist of the story serves an important duty as the international arbitrator between the fairies and humans, and she returns to her former hometown of Kusunoki. She chose this job because she thought it was an easy job she can do, even when she is as old as her grandfather. However, she learns that her job is anything but simple when she meets the fairies. Crunchyroll announced on Friday that it will stream the anime version into several countries as it airs in Japan this summer.

The 2008 school romantic comedy novel Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai revolves around Ichirō "Menzu" Satō, a high school freshman who forgets his textbook at school one day. Ichirō encounters a beautiful girl while sneaking back into his school in the dead of night. The girl calls herself a witch from a parallel world. Ichirō used to suffer delusions of grandeur like this, but vowed to stop so that he can successfully re-invent himself as a freshman in high school.

The Japanese publisher Shogakukan revealed on the website for its Shōnen Sunday Super magazine in December that a theatrical anime film of Romeo Tanaka's light novel Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai would open in 2012. However, the editors at Shogakukan's Gagaga imprint reported a day later that the information was "partially in error."

Update: Each of the Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita Blu-ray and DVD volumes will also have a bonus Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita text story by Tanaka.
