Gengoroh Tagame's Gay Bondage Manga Gets 1st English Collection

North American publisher PictureBox will release a collection of gay bondage-themed works by manga creator Gengoroh Tagame in spring 2013. This will be the creator's first North American and English-language collection. His works have already been published in several European countries in other languages.
Author and graphic designer Chip Kidd will design The Passion of Gengoroh Tagame: Bara Master. Kidd will commission a new story for the collection, and the volume will also feature ten short stories published in about the past 15 years. Anne Ishii will translate the collection, while Edmund White will write the introduction.
PictureBox representative Dan Nadel noted that he is relying on the fan translation community to support the project. The publisher also stated the project is outside its usual scope but hopes that it will lead to new market penetration.
