Hanasaku Iroha Artist Eito Chida Reveals Manga's End

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Manga version began in 2010 to coincide with TV anime's premiere

On Wednesday, manga artist Eito Chida confirmed in the authors' comments section for Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker magazine that the main manga version of P.A. Works' Hanasaku Iroha franchise is ending. The final chapter will run in the October issue on September 22.

The story centers around Ohana Matsumae, a 16-year-old Tokyo native who suddenly ends up working at a provincial hot spring inn after her mother flees town with a boyfriend to avoid debts.

Chida began serializing the series in 2010 prior to the anime series' premiere in 2011. A film adaptation scheduled for later this year was announced shortly after the series wrapped last fall.

Jun Sasameyuki's prequel manga series Hanasaku Iroha: Green Girls Graffiti ran on the Web Comic Gekkin site before it also ended earlier this year.
