Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine will debut a manga adaptation of BBC's Sherlock television series on October 4th. The artist will be "Jay" and will open with an adaptation of "A Study in Pink", the very first episode of the series that was originally written by Steven Moffat (Press Gang, Doctor Who) and Mark Gatiss (Doctor Who).

A three minute trailer for theatrical film Fairy Tail: Hōō no Miko (Fairy Tail: Priestess of the Phoenix) has been posted on the distributors youtube channel. The film opened in Japan on the 18th of August and follows the Fairy Tail guild as they try and assist a mysterious girl named Éclair.

Rurouni Kenshin Live-Action opened in Japan this past weekend (August 25-26th) and earned 399,520,400 yen (close to $5 million AUD) and sold 295,319 tickets in those two days. Some theatres opened the film early between Wednesday the 22nd of August and Friday the 24th of August and the film's five day tally stands at 555,476,800 yen (AUD$6.89 million) and 424,143 tickets taking Rurouni Kenshin to the top of the Japanese box office.

A new Duel Masters manga series launched in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine this week. The new series, titled Duel Masters Rev. is a modern fantasy centering around a 15-year-old boy who once was caught up in the Duel Masters craze, but he left the game behind after elementary school. However, a Duel Masters card that he buried in a time capsule is linked to an event that can change the course of human history. The new series is drawn by Shinsuke Takahashi and written by Shido Kanzaki. While there has been many other Duel Masters manga, most have run on CoroCoro Comic and associated publications while being aimed at younger readers. This is the first Duel Masters manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday.
