Makoto Shinkai's The Garden of Words Blu-ray/DVD to Have English Subs

The official website for Makoto Shinkai's newest film The Garden of Words (Kotonoha no Niwa) has revealed that the film's release on Blu-ray Disc and DVD will include Japanese, English, and Chinese subtitles. The Blu-ray release will include a 16-page booklet and a copy of the film's soundtrack with 90 minutes of planned video bonus features, such as interviews with the cast and Shinkai, a "long" feature on Shinkai's filmography, a video storyboard, and the theatrical preview video. The Blu-ray Disc retails for 6,090 yen (about US$65) and the DVD retails for 3,360 yen (US$36). The DVD release will also come with the soundtrack CD, 30 minutes of bonus footage including the interviews, theatrical preview video, and a "short" feature on Shinkai's filmography.
The film itself will be approximately 46 minutes long. The film will open on May 31, and the home video release is slated for June 21.
