Aniplex of America announced at its A-Kon panel on Sunday that it will release the GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack anime adaptation of Junji Ito's Gyo horror manga on English-subtitled DVD on July 9. The film and manga center around mutant fish with metal legs that emerge from the sea to attack Japan. Amidst the carnage, Kaori embarks on a desperate quest to find her missing boyfriend before he is lost to the mayhem that is sweeping the land.

Pre-orders for the DVD release will begin from retailers on Monday. The DVD will retail for US$37.98, discounted to US$29.98. The anime debuted last year with animation by ufotable (Fate/Zero, The Garden of Sinners), and Viz Media published the original manga by Ito (Tomie, Uzumaki) in North America.

Aniplex of America also outlined its English-subtitled DVD plans for the Blast of Tempest anime. It will release the anime series in two complete season DVD sets on August 13, 2013 and January 21, 2014. Each set will include 12 episodes on three DVDs. The first set's bonuses include clean opening and ending animation sequences, a 16-page deluxe booklet, and an exclusive reversible mini-poster.

Pre-orders for the first set will begin on Monday. Each set will retail for US$74.98, discounted to US$59.98.
