Boys-Love Story Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi Gets Anime Film

Cast for film based on Shungiku Nakamura's manga to be announced on August 1

The wraparound jacket band on the fourth volume of Miyako Fujisaki and Shungiku Nakamura's Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi: Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai light novel series is announcing on Saturday that an anime film adaptation of the Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi franchise has been green-lit. The cast is scheduled to be announced on August 1 in the eighth volume of Nakamura's original Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi ~Onodera Ritsu no Baai~ manga. Kadokawa Group Publishing's Asuka Ciel magazine had announced in December that an anime adaptation of the Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi: Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai story is in the works.

The original manga's story follows the tension between a newly recruited manga editor named by Ritsu Onodera (voiced by Takashi Kondō on television) and his tyrannical editor-in-chief Masamune Takano (Katsuyuki Konishi) — who happen to share a common past. The Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai light novel series centers around Takafumi, a worker at the Marukawa publishing company with his own shared college past with Takano. He had helped bring Takano into Marukawa.

The manga has been adapted into two anime seasons, with both seasons airing in 2011. Crunchyroll both streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan.
