Aria Reprints Attack on Titan Shōjo Prologue After It Sells Out

posted on by Sarah Nelkin

The official website for Kodansha's Aria magazine announced on Tuesday that it will be reprinting the prologue chapter of the Attack on Titan spinoff manga Shingeki no Kyojin Gaiden: Kuinaki Sentaku (Attack on Titan Side Story: A Choice with No Regrets) manga in the December issue on October 28. The prologue first ran in the November issue on September 28.

The editorial staff explained that due to the extreme demand for the magazine's November issue and many fans not being able to purchase the issue from any bookstore due to lack of stock, many fans were not able to read the prologue. The staff added that the issue did have a larger circulation than the typical issue would have had, but it was still not enough for the demand. The staff also apologized for causing trouble to the readers who wanted to read the other works in the November issue.

The full Shingeki no Kyojin Gaiden: Kuinaki Sentaku series will launch in the January issue on November 28. Hikaru Suruga is drawing the manga, and Nitroplus writer Gan Sunaaku (Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet) is in charge of the manga's scripts. Sunaaku is also penning one of the Nitroplus visual novels that will ship with the sixth Blu-ray Disc volume of the Attack on Titan television anime series. The visual novel will be titled Kuinaki Sentaku [Yokoku] (A Choice With No Regrets: Preview) and will center on Levi and Erwin's past.

Hajime Isayama's original Attack on Titan manga has already inspired Saki Nakagawa's Shingeki! Kyojin Chūgakkō spinoff comedy manga series and is inspiring the Attack on Titan: Before the Fall manga by Satoshi Shiki that is based on Ryō Suzukaze's light novel series of the same name.
