Viz Adds Kiss of the Rose Princess, Honey Blood Shōjo Manga

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
First volumes will be released in October and November

North American manga publisher Viz Media announced on Monday that the company will release Aya Shouoto's Kiss of the Rose Princess (Barajou no Kiss) and Miko Mitsuki's Honey Blood (Mitsu Aji Blood) shōjo manga under its Shojo Beat line.

The first volume of Honey Blood will be released in October. Viz Media describes the story:

When a girl at Hinata Sorazono's school is attacked by what seems to be a blood-sucking vampire, everyone is on edge and wonders who's next. Hinata refuses to believe that vampires even exist, but then she meets her new neighbor, Junya Tokinaga, the author of an incredibly popular vampire romance novel. Dressed in a kimono with an old-world air about him, Junya has a taste of Hinata's blood and tells her it's sweet... Hinata can't help but be drawn to Junya, but could it be that he's actually a vampire—and worse yet, the culprit behind the attacks?!

Mitsuki launched Honey Blood in Shogakukan's Sho-Comi magazine in 2008. The series second and final volume shipped in 2010.

The first volume Kiss of the Rose Princess will be released in November. Viz Media describes the story:

Anis Yamamoto has been told that if she ever removes the rose choker given to her by her father, a terrible punishment will befall her. Unfortunately she loses that choker when a batlike being named Ninufa falls from the sky and hits her. Ninufa gives Anis given four cards representing four knights whom she can summon with a kiss. But now that she has these gorgeous men at her beck and call, what exactly is her quest?!

Shouoto launched Kiss of the Rose Princess in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Asuka magazine in 2008. The ninth and final volume shipped in Japan in 2012. The digital manga platform JManga previously licensed the series in 2011. The platform ended its services last year.
