Daigo, Aichi, Kai star in 2-part live-action/anime film next fall on September 13

The official website for the first film in Bushiroad's Cardfight!! Vanguard mixed-media franchise began streaming a teaser trailer and a making-of video on Saturday. The September 13 film will have two parts: the live-action Mitsu no Game (Three Games) half starring DAIGO, and the anime Neon Messiah half with voice cast members Tsubasa Yonaga, Takuya Satō, and others:

The teaser begins with a timeline: the franchise started in 2010, and the first anime premiered in 2011. Three more annual television sequels would follow, and along the way, the "worldwide craze in Asia, North America, Europe, and beyond" shipped over 1 billion cards of the new-generation card game. "The curtains finally rise on the extreme fight!"

In the making-of video, DAIGO and Suzuko Mimori introduce their characters (DAIGO and Maria Kagami, respectively) and talk about how much they enjoyed shooting the live-action half.

Taizō Shiina, Takuma Sueno, and other cast members also return to the franchise for the live-action portion of the film, In the live-action portion directed by Takashi Motoki at Ace Crew Entertainment, DAIGO will solve a case with Vanguard.

In the anime portion, the characters Aichi and Kai join forces to take on an enormous foe. Shin Itagaki is directing the anime portion at Ultra Super Pictures with a screenplay by Mayori Sekijima. Tsubasa Yonaga, Takuya Satō, and Izumi Kitta reprise their roles as Aichi Sendō, Toshiki Kai, and Misaki Tokura, respectively.

The ongoing Cardfight!! Vanguard: Legion Mate-Hen series continues the story from the third series, Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker Hen. To celebrate the seventh anniversary of Bushiroad, DAIGO, Psychic Lover, Suara, Izumi Kita, Suzuko Mimori, and Shūta Morishima formed a new unit called "Bushi★7" to perform the anime's theme song "V-Road." DAIGO wrote the lyrics and scored the song.

The international five-girl group Faky is making its CD debut in April with the new anime series' ending theme song, "rhythm."

The second 3DS game, Cardfight!! Vanguard Lock-On Victory!!, will go on sale on June 5. It will tell a new story based on Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker Hen with new cards. The player can choose to be a student from one of three different high schools, and the wireless battle mode has been greatly expanded. Even if the connection drops, the game's AI will continue the battle. The game supports a wireless link-up method similar to Nintendogs.

A "Dai-Vangua-Sai" event is being held at the Tokyo Big Sight complex this weekend.
