1st New Haruhi Suzumiya Video in 4 Years Promotes Pachinko Game

posted on by Egan Loo
Fans must "hunt" & upload 707 photos frames to slowly reveal new anime video

The first new Haruhi Suzumiya footage in about four years is marking the release of Sankyo's pachinko game Fever Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu (Fever: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya). Kyoto Animation produced the video, just as it did with the earlier television anime and anime film inspired by Nagaru Tanigawa's popular light novel series. Haruhi herself and all the members of the SOS Brigade appear in the video, which uses the "Lost my music" song first heard during the television anime's school cultural festival scenes.

The new footage was made for the game's "Haruhi Hunting" campaign. 707 different photo frames have been printed and scattered throughout convenience store and outdoor advertising, magazines, websites, and elsewhere all over Japan. As people take snapshots of all 707 photo frames and upload them to the campaign's website, the new footage will be gradually unveiled.

The website posted a teaser to explain how the "Haruhi Hunting" campaign works:

When people first browse the website, it plays this teaser and lists all the photo frames "hunted." It then automatically plays all the footage in the new video that have been revealed so far.
