First copies of September 25 game come with code to redeem "Haikyu!! Quest" mini-game

Bandai Namco Games began streaming the first promotional video for its upcoming Haikyu!! - Tsunage! Itadaki no Keshiki!! (Haikyu!! Connect! The Scenery of the Summit!!) Nintendo 3DS game on Wednesday. The video is narrated by Ayumu Murase as his character Shōyō Hinata.

The video introduces the game's six protagonists: Shōyō Hinata, Tobio Kageyama, Daichi Sawamura, Kōshi Sugawara, Yū Nishinoya, Asahi Azumane. The game will allow players to play as each of the characters, and train the volleyball team as they see fit in order to compete in the international high school volleyball competition.

The game will allow players to experience the world of Haikyu!! anime in two ways: the Adventure Mode and the Game Mode. In the Adventure Mode, depending on the character the player chooses to be the main character, the story may differ from the original manga and anime, as the game will include new plot points.

In Game Mode, the player will battle against their in-game rivals with the character they have powered-up through choosing a training menu. The strategies and in-game drama from the source material will also be included during matches.

The game will ship in Japan on September 25, and first copies of the game will come with a download code to redeem a "Haikyu!! Quest" mini-game. A limited edition "Hero on the Court Box" bundle will contain a tin case, six postcards, a special DVD containing cast comments and footage recreating the Haikyu!! Quest game, and a special art booklet will cost 7,600 yen (about US$76), while a normal copy of the game will retail for 5,690 yen (about US$57).

Production I.G's anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! volleyball manga premiered on April 6. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American digital and home video release.
