Bandai Namco Games announced on Thursday that a television anime adaptation of its God Eater game franchise has been green-lit. The studio ufotable is producing the television anime project. The company made this and other announcements during its "God Eater 2 Rage Burst & GE 5th Anniversary Contents Unveiling" event at its Tokyo Game Show 2014 booth.

God Eater 2 Rage Burst will feature a new character named Rivi Koretto who is voiced by Hisako Kanemoto. She has the power to adapt to other characters' shinki. The game will also feature the new weapon "Variant Scythe" that looks like an ordinary scythe at first glance, but it has expandable reach for close-range combat. Under the new "Blood Rage" system, a player can power up after taking a vow.

In addition to the television anime, ufotable is working on the 2D anime footage for a pachi-slo (pachinko parlor slot machine) God Eater game for Yamasa. The game, whose release date has not been determined, will also use new 3D models.

The franchise is also collaborating with Sony Computer Entertainment's Soul Sacrifice Delta game. God Eater 2's Aragami Marduk will be a free add-on content item in Soul Sacrifice Delta.
