Nakanishi launched the adaptation of BONES' original television anime in Weekly Shonen Sunday last year. The anime series launched last April and ended in September. Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America.

The story of Captain Earth begins when second-year high school student Daichi Manatsu suddenly spies a mysterious circular rainbow floating in the skies over Tanegashima island on television, on the evening before summer vacation begins.

The fourth volume will ship in Japan on May 18.
